This is how we work, and the terms of our agreement with you should you make an order.

Our Contract and Policies

Find below a description of all of the basic services and add-ons that you can order from our website. When you make an order for a service, you agree that you have read and understood these definitions. You also agree to the terms of our contract, which you can download here: Dasher Website Design Contract.

Standard Website Design

A standard website (also known as a portfolio website) is a website that showcases your services. It does not include any advanced development, or advanced features. A standard website is a showcase of your services, and will include easy methods for clients to contact you such as a contact form, a WhatsApp button and a Google pin location. Our standard package includes a website of up to 5 pages.

eCommerce Website Design

An eCommerce website (also referred to as an online store) is the same as a standard website, with the addition of a shopping cart and a payment gateway, which allows people to order products directly from your website and to make payment for such products by using a number of different payment methods. We typically use PayFast to process card payments. Our standard eCommerce package includes 10 categories and 25 products.

Website Hosting & Maintenance

Our website hosting (2.5GB storage, 10Gb bandwidth, one MYSQL database and 20 email addresses) and maintenance package includes web hosting, a free .co.za domain name, advanced website security, monthly backups and monthly website software and security updates. Changes to your website are billed at our standard rate of R350 per hour.

What is a Domain Name?

Your domain name is the address that leads to your website. You can think of it in the same way as you think of a cellphone number. It tells your visitor’s browser where it should look to find your website. Our domain names are dasher.co.za and dasherwebsitedesign.co.za. We offer.co.za domain names for free with our hosting and maintenance package.

Advanced on-site SEO

Our Advanced on-site Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) service includes the on-site optimisation of all meta titles, description tags, image alt tags, placement of keywords in appropriate H1, H2, H3, H5 and H6 tags. This service also includes implementation of OG tags for Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. 

Advanced Cache

Also referred to as Advanced on-site Performance Optimisation. We compress and combine all static HTML, JavaScript and CSS files to ensure maximum performance and websites that are blazing fast. We also optimize all images to be as compressed as possible without visibly losing quality. 

Google My Business

We create a Google My Business listing for you. If you have a storefront, we create it with your address. If you are online only – we create it with a service area. We will not create multiple listings in order to fool the system. This option is only available as an add-on to a website design package. 

CloudFlare CDN

We connect your website through CloudFlare’s Content Delivery Network (CDN). This connection results in improved security and a faster website with a faster response time and Time to First Byte (TTFB). 

Sending us your Content

You are required to email your content to [email protected] within 3 days of making your order on our website. Your content must be accompanied with a detailed, concise description of your exact requirements. We do not accept content telephonically or through WhatsApp. You may create a neatly organised set of folders in Google Drive if your content is too large to send via a single email. Your content must consist of the following:

  • The name of your business. Ours is named Dasher Website Design (PTY) Ltd
  • Your full business address and all contact numbers, email addresses etc.
  • Your business hours. For example Monday to Friday 08h00 to 17h00 and Saturday 08h00 to 14h00.
  • Your chosen Domain Name (yourname.co.za). If you ordered online then you would have picked your domain name already.
  • A brief and concise description of your business and your website requirements. An example: I own a beauty salon. We do hair and nails. I need a portfolio website that showcases my products and services. I want to sell 25 different beauty products on my website. I want people to be able to buy my products on my website using their credit/debit cards.
  • A list of the main pages you require on your website. An example: Home, About, Services, Gallery, Contact.
  • Information for your “About” page. An example: We are a trusted construction firm with more than 25 years experience in the industry. We started in 1996 and have grown from a one-man operation to a company with over 20 full-time employees. We pride ourselves on offering excellent work and personal service.
  • A full list of services that you or your company provides along with a detailed description of each service and a price, if you’d like to add that to you website. If you’ll be selling products on your website then we need to know how many products you are listing, photos, a price and a detailed description of each product including SKU numbers and any additional information. We load 25 products on our standard eCommerce package but you are free to add as many product as you like yourself.
  • This is important: If you are creating an online store we need a proper and well thought out list of the categories you require. This is to keep your online store well-organised. It also helps you when you add new products yourself.
  • Any images/logos that you would like us to use on your website. Your photos need to be high quality and may NOT exceed 1MB in size per image unless previously discussed. Images for products must be square shaped, showing the product clearly.
  • Links to all of your social media channels. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Youtube etc.
 
The above is a very basic list of everything that we need in order to invoice you and build your website. Kindly note that we will not work with content that is not neat and organised. Every image needs to be labelled appropriately. You may send us a Word or PDF document with all of your content in one document.

Communication Policy

Initial communication:

  • You may call us for an introduction or to briefly discuss your requirements. Extended telephonic conversations will be charged for on a per-call basis. The majority of communication must occur in written form via WhatsApp or Email.
  • We accept voice notes, as long as they are short. Any extended conversations must be conducted in written form via either WhatsApp or Email.
  • Your content must be emailed to us. You may use Google Drive to set up folders for you content in case your content is too large to email.
  • We will not accept any content sent to us via WhatsApp. You are required to email content to us.
 
Communication during Construction of your Website: 
  • Once we have completed your website we will request feedback from you. This is your opportunity to let us know about any changes you require. Kindly note that once we request feedback you are required to get back to us within 1 (one) business day. When you request changes to your website at this time, they need to provided as a list and sent to us via email. We will not work on individual changes one-by-one. You need to send us a full list of your changes changes.
  • Websites need to be completed in a timely manner. Websites that take more than 7 business days to complete may incur additional costs. On larger projects we will provide you with a suitable timeframe.

Our Design Process

Once you have sent us your content we will do the following:

  • We will have a look at websites of your competitors and other businesses similar to yours. We do this so we can come up with a design that is appropriate for your business.
  • We will complete your website as per your instructions and will ask you to visit the link to see the first draft.
  • You are now able to see a live version of your new website. You should go through your website closely and let us know about any changes you’d like to the design. When you ask us to make changes it is important that you make a full list of your desired changes. We will not work on design issues one-by-one.
  • We will repeat the above process for up to 7-days before you will incur additional costs.
  • Once you are satisfied with the design, the remainder of your invoice becomes due (if you paid only a deposit).
  • Once the above is completed we will submit your website to all search engines.

Our Refund Policy

We will only issue refunds in cases where we cannot deliver according to your instructions submitted to us as part of your initial content submission. All refunds will be issued minus a 10% processing fee.
